Job Description

Duties

Under the direct supervision of the General Services Officer (GSO) incumbent provides support to VIP and other important visitors and delegations, including high-level personnel from all government agencies and departments (including “S,” Congressional and Staff delegations, etc.) The incumbent initiates and monitors short and long-term planning for Mission events, VIP and TDY visits to ensure the most effective use of Mission resources. The incumbent reports directly to the GSO, that also manages the Travel Section. Incumbent provides supervision of the Travel section and assists with reviewing and approving travel requests via email and in the E2 travel management system for all Mission travel.

Incumbent serves as a Post Contracting Officer (CO) by obtaining and holding a contracting warrant of at least $100,000 and has formal authority to negotiate on behalf of the USG. Manages and approves procurement requests. Incumbent assists GSO to make sure that all position descriptions for section employees are up to date. Works with HR to update the position descriptions and reclassification process if needed. The position requires frequent contact with high-level officials in the USG, Government of Ethiopia (GOE), as well as executives in the private sector, etc.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative-related job is required.

EDUCATION: Mandatory: Two (2) years of college/university studies is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  English- Fluency in speaking/reading/writing is required. (This may be tested.)
