About Us:

Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, Non-Governmental Organization established in 2002 by a group of volunteers in the Jimma zone of Oromia Regional State. Initially founded to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic, FIDO has expanded its focus to include prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), care and support for orphan and vulnerable children (OVC), and various health projects such as malaria control and reproductive health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Synergizes the team roles and responsibilities of the specific DIC and FIDO at large,
• Pays maximum attention and effort in maximizing the HTS yield.
• Provides standardized adherence counselling to chronic HIV care services,
• Provides counselling on readiness for ART initiation,
• If the patient is not eligible for CPT consider initiating ART after excluding any contra indication and adherence gap,
• Uses the clinical review form when providing the continuum of care,
• Manages any identified OI as per the National Guideline,
• Decides to start the client on CPT based on the most recent national HIV/AIDS care and treatment guideline
• If the patient is not ready for ART counsels and starts 3HP,
• Facilitates sample collection for a baseline essential laboratory tests mainly CD4 count, Viral load count and chemistry,
• After patient returns from case manager asses understanding level on HIV transmission, prevention mechanisms, benefit of ART, drug adherence and then prescribes drugs for OI treatment, prophylaxis and ART,
• If the OI suspected is above the DIC makes referral to nearby hospital after writing complete referral paper and communicates with receiving facility for effective service provision,
• Discusses on tracing mechanism of clients lost from the service site,
• Links the patient with case manager for counseling
• Registers the clients on the ART register regularly,
• Fills the HIV care/ART follow up form regularly,
• Completes the client intake form,
• Prepares and submits reports by respecting the due dates
• Counselling on readiness for ART initiation provided
• Initiating ART after excluding any contra indication and adherence gap is considered if the patient is not eligible for CPT,
• The clinical review form used when providing the continuum of care,
• Any identified OI managed as per the National Guideline,
• CPT start decided based on the recent national HIV/AIDS care and treatment guideline,
• Patients who are not ready for ART counseled and started on INH,

Qualifications & Requirements:

• BSC Nurse , Clinical nursing and Public Health Officer other related fields
• Minimum 5 (Five) year of experience in similar positions
• ART Training Certificate& experience Service
• Working with National or International NGOs is advantageous
• Have a good modulation of voice and confidence in communicating in public
• Work as team player and has flexibility in his/her work
• He/she can work independently and innovatively to develop and implement supervision and training activities that help expand community participation
• Experience working in humanitarian emergency settings is an asset understanding of and commitment to FIDO’s mission and values
