About Us:

Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, Non-Governmental Organization established in 2002 by a group of volunteers in the Jimma zone of Oromia Regional State. Initially founded to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic, FIDO has expanded its focus to include prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), care and support for orphan and vulnerable children (OVC), and various health projects such as malaria control and reproductive health.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Clinical Services

  • Conduct outpatient consultations for acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Provide preventive, promotive, and curative health services.
  • Diagnose and manage common medical, surgical, pediatric, and gynecological conditions within scope.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures (suturing, incision & drainage, circumcision, foreign body removal).
  • Provide emergency and lifesaving care (resuscitation, stabilization, and referral).
  • Manage maternal health cases (ANC, PNC, family planning) and refer complicated deliveries.
  • Screen, diagnose, and treat communicable diseases (TB, HIV, malaria, STIs).
  • Provide psychosocial first aid and refer GBV cases as per guidelines.

B. Patient Management

  • Ensure patient records are complete, confidential, and accurate.
  • Prescribe medications rationally and monitor side effects.
  • Counsel patients and families on treatment plans, lifestyle modification, and follow-up.
  • Apply infection prevention & control (IPC) protocols in all activities.

C. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with nurses, lab, pharmacy, and support staff.
  • Participate in the referral system (in and out referrals), ensuring feedback is documented.
  • Coordinate with peer educators for MARP client support.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary meetings to review cases and improve service delivery.

D. Administrative & Supervisory Tasks

  • Support the clinic manager in implementing CES 191 standards.
  • Supervise nurses.
  • Participate in staff training and mentorship.
  • Ensure rational use of medical supplies, lab reagents, and drugs.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Academic Qualification: BSc/MSc Degree in Nursing/Clinical Nursing.

Work Experience:

  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience.

Required No: 1.

  • Medical Doctor (MD/GP) with valid Ethiopian Medical License (EFDA/MoH).
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary/secondary care.
  • Training in emergency/lifesaving procedures desirable.
  • Knowledge of national guidelines for HIV, TB, MCH, and NCD management.
