Key Responsibilities
Licensing and compliance
- Responsible for securing, renewing and revising all corporate documents and licenses which include but are not limited to
- Commercial registration
- Business license
- Trademark certificates
- Revision and changes to Memorandum of association
- Power of attorney
- Maintain a comprehensive database or tracking system for all licenses, including expiration dates and renewal requirements.
- Assist in the coordination and facilitation of any license-related audits or inspections conducted by regulatory agencies and gather and organize all necessary documentation required.
- Maintain an organized and efficient filing system for all Legal documents (both Digital and Physical.)
- Manage Court case filing procedures both Digital and physical
- Manage Third-party Due diligence process by collaborating with global office and other local functions to make sure the company is compliant.
Training
- Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
- Provide and follow up the execution of ethics and compliance training by aligning with the Global office and other local functions.
- Provide reports and evidence of the organization’s training efforts to regulatory authorities or auditors, as required.
- Address employees concerns or questions on legal and procedural compliance
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decision and operation
- Serve as privacy officer and advance awareness creation on speak-up through continuous communication
Legal drafting/Advising
- Drafting Shareholders and Board of directors meeting minutes, POAs, and other Legal documents by ensuring that they accurately reflect the legal and regulatory requirements for the documents.
- Facilitate the signage of Minutes, POA, and any legal document at the relevant Government office including but not limited to DARA, EIC.
- Identify potential compliance risks and provide guidance and advice on strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Assist with litigation – investigate claims, draft pleadings and statement of defense
- Assist in the draft and revision of company policy and contracts
- Prepare monthly litigation overview and share the same with relevant functions
- The focal point of contact for global and regional team on topic of compliance and responsible for cascading the same to OPCO
- Oversee the tendering process to ensure process and legal compliance and propose improved ways of working as required
Job Requirements
Education
- Minimum of First degree in Law
Experience and skills
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in consulting/business advisory, consumer goods industry or public sector.
