Job Description

Job Summary

The Information Management Officer is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining information systems that support data collection, analysis, storage, and reporting—creating information products like reports and dashboards, and collaborating with internal and external partners on information management strategies and data standards. ensures accurate, timely, and accessible information is available to support evidence-based decision-making, program quality improvement, and accountability to stakeholders.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update databases for program activities and beneficiaries.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and security across all systems.
  • Design and manage digital/mobile data collection tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, Comcare, ODK).
  • Process, analyze, and visualize program data to produce dashboards, maps, and reports.
  • Support program teams in generating evidence-based reports for donors, government, and partners.
  • Provide timely information for monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.
  • Train staff and partners on data collection, reporting tools, and information management systems.
  • Provide technical support to field staff for troubleshooting and system use.
  • Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
  • Support information flow between field offices, the country office, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment with national data standards and donor reporting requirements.
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or management of the organization

About You

Educational Qualifications and experiences

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science,

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in information management, database administration, or data analysis in development or humanitarian settings.

Additional Skill

  • Ability to train and support field staff on information systems.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into user-friendly information products.
  • Team player with strong coordination and facilitation skills.
  • Commitment to data protection, ethics, and confidentiality.
