Job Description
Job Summary
oversees and improves livestock farming systems and operations to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and profitability. Develop breeding and nutrition programs, providing technical guidance to young women, monitoring animal health and productivity, promoting value-added products, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project goals
Specific Responsibilities
- Support the design and execution of livestock business development interventions in the target area.
- Facilitates activities related to livestock, provides training relevant to livestock management
- Promote sustainable and climate-smart livestock practices.
- Strengthen market linkages between producers, cooperatives, traders, processors, and exporters.
- Support business development services (BDS) for livestock cooperatives, enterprises, and youth groups.
- Facilitate access to finance for livestock producers through linkages with MFIs, banks, and savings groups.
- Identify market opportunities and promote livestock-based income generation for women and youth.
- Prepare timely and accurate progress reports for the Livestock Business Office.
- Liaise with livestock and agriculture government offices, research institutes, cooperatives, and private sector actors.
- Facilitate partnerships with input suppliers, veterinary services, processors, and traders.
- Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or management of the organization

About You
Educational Qualification and Experience
- BA/MA in Animal Science, Livestock Production, Veterinary Science, Agribusiness,or related fields. MA with minimum 4 years of experience with proven experience in livestock business development, cooperative strengthening, or value chain promotion.
Additional Skill
- Strong technical knowledge in livestock production, business development, and market linkages.
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Fluency in English and local language/s
