Duty Station: Melkadida, Somali Region

Reports to: Workshop Head

Duration: 4 months with the possibility of extension

Overall purpose of the role:

The Senior Mechanic will be responsible for Light Vehicles (LVs) maintenance and hands-on experience in light vehicle maintenance and repair, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Specific Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of light vehicles.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and service light vehicles, battery systems, and electrical components.
• Keep up to date with the technologies and maintenance procedures of light vehicles
• Guide and supervise junior mechanics; provide on-the-job training
• Maintain accurate service records and reports.
• Collaborate with supervisors on workload planning and technical issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workshop environment.

Qualification and Experience:

• Degree in Automotive technology/Auto-mechanics from recognized University/College
• Must have good command of both spoken and written English and Local languages
• Proven Ability to handle workloads and to work under pressure
• NGO experience is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years & above relevant experience
