About the Ethiopian Red Cross Society
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 12 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is implementing a disaster preparedness project funded by DG ECHO. This initiative aims to enhance coordination on anticipatory action at both national and regional levels. It also focuses on building the capacities of local actors, including the ERCS, to better prepare for and respond to disasters. The ultimate goal is to mitigate the impacts of disasters on communities in targeted regions, such as Somali.
ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering National Societies, members, volunteers and the communities we serve.

Job Summary
The Finance & Admin officer will be an essential part of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society and based in ERCS offices in Somali region.
The role of Finance & Admin Officer shall support the ERCS in Somali region in effective financial management of our DG ECHO Funded -Disaster Preparedness project. Moreover, the role will ensure efficient, effective, and timely administration and running of the office in ERCS Somali region.
Key performance areas
All tasks will be performed under the supervision of the ERCS Somali Region Finance and Admin Head and secondarily under the supervision of the Project Officer
