UNOPS Horn of Africa Multi Country Office is recruiting for this position: Logistics Assistant based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Established in 2009, Ethiopia Multi-country office, now referred to as the Horn of Africa Multi-Country Office (HAMCO) manages a growing portfolio of engagements, including associated strategic and operational risks within the region. The HAMCO sub-region currently consists of an established Operation Centre in Addis Ababa which manages a portfolio of engagements in four (4) Horn of Africa countries (Ethiopia, Djibouti, Sudan and South Sudan). HAMCO focuses on Infrastructure, Procurement, Project Management, HR and Transactional Services, and Fund Management services across a wide range of sectors including Health, Education, Agriculture, Resilient infrastructure, among others. Our goal is to support countries, help people in need and enable our partners through delivering on our mandate of infrastructure, procurement and project management in the countries in the Horn of Africa.
The UNOPS Horn of Africa Multi-Country Office is experiencing significant growth in both projects and staff, which has led to an expansion of the fleet. This growth necessitates improved management to ensure efficiency. Currently, the office operates a fleet of vehicles and trucks, all of which require daily follow-up and proper management. To address this need, a Logistics Assistant is required to effectively manage the fleet and ensure smooth operations.

The key results directly affect the overall efficiency of the relevant business unit/s and project activities in fleet management, ensuring efficiency of UNOPS’ vehicles. Effective fleet management contributes to office performance, efficiency and client satisfaction, which promote the image and credibility of the team and office as an effective service provider in project services and management. This enhances UNOPS’ competitive position as a partner of choice in sustainable development and project services in the country/region served. |
