Strategic Planning and Project Life Cycle Management Trainings

HRNS Ethiopia was established in 2015 and works in coffee-growing areas through community-centered approaches. Its goal, mission and values emphasize resilient smallholder communities, women and youth, strong farmer organizations, improved livelihoods and environmentally sustainable coffee landscapes.

HRNS Ethiopia invites qualified consulting firms to design and deliver two practical, participatory staff trainings. Applicants may apply for one or both assignments.

KEY TRAINING FOCUS

• Strategic Planning: Strategic analysis, institutional direction-setting, vision and mission alignment, stakeholder management, strategic positioning, scenario planning, priority setting, resource optimization, governance, risk-informed decision-making, strategy execution, performance monitoring, organizational learning, and adaptive leadership.
• Project Life Cycle Management: Root cause identification and needs assessment,  project design (Theory of Change, logical framework, chain of activities), work planning, budgeting, risk assessment , safeguarding,  MEAL design, Result/impact reporting, project exit planning, sustainability and lessons learned. Reasonable time should be dedicated for result/impact reporting as it will be a high-priority topic within the PCM.

SCOPE AND DELIVERABLES

• Conduct a brief needs assessment and prepare a customized agenda and practical training package before the training days.
• Deliver each two-day training using participatory adult-learning methods, exercises and relevant cases.
• Administer pre/post assessments/using google doc/;
• Provide slides, manuals, tools, and templates.
• Submit a concise final report covering results, feedback, observations and recommendations.

CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Firm qualification

1. Legally registered in Ethiopia with a valid business license and TIN and can provide legal receipts
2. At least five years of relevant experience, including similar trainings for INGOs or development organizations.
3. Please give at least two references.

Experience:  at least five years of relevant professional experience

• Demonstrated experience working with international NGOs (INGOs) or development organizations.
• Proven experience designing and delivering similar Strategic Planning and/or Project Life Cycle Management trainings.
• Strong knowledge of participatory adult-learning methods, MEAL, safeguarding and the NGO context. Excellent facilitation, analytical and report-writing skills.

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS

• Technical proposal: understanding of the assignment, methodology, work plan, sample agenda, trainer CVs, and references.
• Financial proposal in Ethiopian Birr, stating whether prices include VAT and, with a cost breakdown.
