POSITION SUMMARY

The Stakeholder Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to establish, strengthen, and sustain relationships with key stakeholders that support FDRE MESOB’s strategic objectives. The position serves as the primary liaison between the organization and government institutions, development partners, donors, private sector organizations, civil society, academic institutions, and international organizations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, map, and prioritize key stakeholders based on organizational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with government institutions, development partners, donors, diplomatic missions, private sector organizations, NGOs, academia, and international organizations.
  • Serve as the organization’s focal point for stakeholder coordination and engagement.

Partnership Development

  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and institutional collaboration.
  • Coordinate partnership discussions and facilitate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements.
  • Maintain active engagement with existing partners to strengthen long-term collaboration.
  • Monitor partnership performance and recommend opportunities for improvement.

Communication and Coordination

  • Organize stakeholder consultations, meetings, workshops, forums, conferences, and networking events.
  • Coordinate communication between internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare stakeholder briefings, presentations, talking points, and information materials.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on partnership commitments and agreed actions.

Resource Mobilization Support

  • Support fundraising initiatives by engaging development partners and funding organizations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of concept notes, project proposals, partnership briefs, and donor presentations.
  • Coordinate stakeholder contributions to resource mobilization activities.
  • Promote collaborative initiatives that support organizational sustainability.

Advocacy and Institutional Representation

  • Represent FDRE MESOB at meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and national or international forums.
  • Promote the organization’s vision, strategic priorities, and achievements.
  • Strengthen institutional visibility through proactive stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and experience exchange with partners.

Stakeholder Analysis and Monitoring

  • Maintain an updated stakeholder database and engagement records.
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
  • Monitor stakeholder satisfaction and engagement effectiveness.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement reports and performance indicators.

Capacity Building

  • Provide guidance to departments on stakeholder engagement best practices.
  • Support staff in developing effective partnership and communication skills.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and customer-focused engagement throughout the organization.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure stakeholder engagement activities comply with organizational policies and ethical standards.
  • Identify partnership risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive stakeholder information

About You

  • MA degree in International Relations, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Development Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Law, Economics, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership management, public relations, donor relations, external affairs, or program coordination with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience working with government institutions, development partners, international organizations, or public sector institutions is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in partnership development, negotiation, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
  • Proven ability to map, prioritize, and manage high-level relationships with government officials, donors, and private sector leaders.
  • Skilled in facilitating MoUs, structuring inter-institutional collaborations, and monitoring long-term partner commitments.
  • Hands-on experience preparing concept notes, donor briefs, and project proposals to secure strategic alignment and resources.
  • Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills suited for high-level diplomatic and institutional forums.
  • Strong capacity to navigate multi-party discussions, resolve engagement bottlenecks, and manage partnership risks professionally.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, multilingual fluency is preferred.
  • High ethical standards, unwavering integrity, and absolute impartiality, strictly adhering to the FDRE MESOB Service Code of Ethics.
  • Highly proactive with exceptional attention to detail, strong time management, prioritization skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with high adaptability, resilience, and operational flexibility during major campaigns, events, policy reviews, or legislative processes.
