Call for Applications: Capacity Strengthening Training on the African Union Transitional Justice Policy (AUTJP)

The Life & Peace Institute (LPI), in partnership with the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) and the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR), invites applications for the third cohort of its Capacity Strengthening Training on the African Union Transitional Justice Policy (AUTJP).

The training will strengthen the knowledge, skills and networks of civil society and community-based organisations working on transitional justice, peacebuilding, reconciliation, human rights and related areas across the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes Region.

Training dates: 27–29 October 2026 (tentative), Location: Naivasha, Kenya, Application deadline: 30 August 2026

Applicants from Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda are eligible to apply. Participation costs, including travel, accommodation and meals, will be covered by LPI.

Training Cost

LPI will cover all costs associated with participation for all successful applicants, including travel, accommodation, meals, and training materials for the duration of the training.

– What do you hope to learn, and how will this training benefit your professional development, your organisation and/or your community?
– How will you apply the knowledge and skills gained to strengthen TJR initiatives within your community or country?
