About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and strategic Senior IT Officer to lead our technology and digital transformation initiatives.

This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the technology infrastructure of a modern, technology-enabled healthcare organization. The successful candidate will lead IT operations, cybersecurity, digital health systems, data governance, and AI-driven initiatives while ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing technology that supports exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and business continuity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management & Optimization

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the center’s IT systems including servers, networks, workstations, and medical device integration.
• Monitor system uptime and performance, proactively resolving issues affecting clinical or administrative operations.
• Lead system upgrades and implements new technologies to ensure a modern, scalable, and secure IT environment.

2. Technical Support & Clinical Systems Assistance

• Provide advanced technical support to medical, nursing, and administrative staff.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues with minimal disruption to patient care.
• Manage IT support tickets with priority-based response times, ensuring timely resolution.
• Train staff on EHR/EMR systems, telehealth tools, and cybersecurity best practices.

3. Cybersecurity & Compliance (Healthcare Focus)

• Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures including firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls, and data encryption.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and local data protection laws.
• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses.
• Lead data backup and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity and patient data integrity.
• Maintain documentation, policies, and audit readiness.
• Support accreditation requirements related to health information systems.
• Monitor compliance with privacy and security regulations.

4. AI Strategy & Implementation

• Identify and evaluate AI solutions that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
• Lead implementation of AI-enabled healthcare technologies
• Develop AI governance frameworks

5. IT Strategy & Project Management

• Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategy with clinical goals and operational needs.
• Manage key projects such as EMR migrations, PACS (imaging) system upgrades, and network expansions.
• Evaluate and recommend new health technologies to improve patient experience and staff productivity.

6. Vendor & Asset Management

• Manage relationships with IT vendors, medical equipment suppliers, and service providers.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all hardware, software licenses, and medical IT assets.
• Oversee procurement, lifecycle management, and warranty tracking.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, system processes, and incident responses.
• Prepare regular reports on system performance, security incidents, project status, and IT budgets for senior management.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Proven track record with a minimum of 5 years in an IT Coordinator, IT Senior Officer, or Systems Administration role.
  • Expert knowledge of IT infrastructure, including network design, server management, cloud computing, and virtualization technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency with major operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and enterprise-level software applications (Microsoft Office, G Suite, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, encryption, antivirus tools, and threat management.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Experience in managing IT projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Industry certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSE, or Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices for service management.
  • Understanding of medical systems (EMR/EHR, PACS, HL7, DICOM) is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, security, and efficiency.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
