Job Description
The Human resources Officer will be providing support in the various human resources functions, which include recruiting, staffing, training and development, and performance monitoring. In addition, the HR Officer who will be involved in sourcing, supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems, the overall HR strategy and assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule job interviews with candidates in accordance with SP procedure.
- Guide and lead recruitment processes, ensure that candidate selection processes are in accordance to the SPE HR Policy and SOP
- Participate in the coordination and administration of the recruitment of new staff. These include preparing candidate information packs (advert, job description and person specification), CV screening and coordinating the screening of applications, management of interview arrangements and appointment processes
- Manage interview results compilation and selection decisions and communication
- Manage the completion of reference checks and background checks on selected candidates
- Maintain accurate, updated and confidential personnel and recruitment files and trackers.
- In consultation with the HRM or HR Coordinator, prepare all new and revised staff contracts, offer letters, and personal declarations
- Maintain an accurate, updated and well organized, confidential HR filing system.
- Maintain tracking sheets for al employment, service and consultancy contracts and advise the Field
- Support the tracking of employee time-sheets and review leave/vacation balances.
- Answer any employee queries about people or HR-related issues, and help them resolve them internally, if possible.
- Work closely with the staff supervisors to implement annual and probationary performance review processes.
- Ensure that all staff departing from SPE completes a full and documented handover and that exit interviews are conducted/questionnaire filled.
- Coordinate the onboarding process and ensure all new hires have a good understanding of and subscribe to SPs vision, mission and values by understanding its approaches, policies, procedures, strategies and operations to perform their job.
- Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date of developments in HR trends and best practices; share information with the relevant parties.
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities with a generous and serving spirit for the benefit of Samaritans Purse.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- BSc/BA in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus
- 3 – 4 years experience in HR. NGO experience preferred
LANGUAGE
- Proficiency in English and Amharic
- Knowledge of the regional language required
- Knowledge of any other national language is a plus
