For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive:

  • Work Station
  • All required office supplies
  • Transport Allowance/ 100 USD
  • Per Diem during field visit
  • Coverage of lodging expense during field visit
  • Coverage of Transportation expense during field visit

Intern responsibilities

Intern will remain responsible for all costs associated with

  • Transport from/to office
  • Medical and any Insurance

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed the following knowledge and experience:

  •  Gain practical experience in financial operations and accounting processes.
  • Develop skills in financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance.
  • Understand organizational finance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Build proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

 DELIVERABLES

 Key Responsibilities

Financial Documentation and Filing

  • Organize and maintain financial records, invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure proper filing of finance documents in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Assist in document retrieval during audits and reviews.

Data Entry and Record Keeping

  • Enter financial transactions into accounting systems and spreadsheets.
  • Update and maintain financial databases accurately and timely.
  • Assist in verifying supporting documents before data entry.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Support

  • Assist in preparing payment requests and processing payments.
  • Support tracking of outstanding advances, receivables, and payables.
  • Follow up on missing supporting documents and approvals.

Audit and Compliance Support

  • Assist in preparing documents required for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure financial records comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support implementation of finance controls and compliance requirements.

Administrative Support

  • Photocopy, scan, and archive finance documents.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office applications.
  4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with accuracy.
  6. One letter of recommendation from a university / higher institution on the candidate’s personal integrity and sense of responsibility.

LIVING CONDITIONS: The internship should be based in the intern’s home location.
