Drug store keeper/Dispenser

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sorts, classifies, labels and shelves essential drugs of the outlet;

2. Dispenses essential drugs according to prescriptions;

3. Preserves drug stock of the outlet against deterioration;

4. Keeps dispensed prescriptions documented and preserved;

5. Weights and measures drugs and fills bottles or other containers according to instructions of superior; 6. Prepares and affixes labels with instructions for administering the drugs;

7. Keeps prescriptions and special drugs locked;

8. performs various clerical activities relating to drug dispensing;

9. Preserves temperature sensitive drugs in a refrigerator and regularly takes temperature measures of the same;

10. advises the users on how to take or apply the drugs;

11. Performs other related duties and responsibilities of the job as assigned by the Pharmacy Head.

Work Unit: EDP Department

Reports to: Pharmacy Head

Salary: As per the scale of the organization

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• First Degree or College diploma /TVET Level IV in Pharmacist/Druggist.
• 6/8 year’s relevant experiences.
