Job Description

Hope enterprises is a local civil society organization which was established in 1971. As a pioneering national NGO, it has been serving the needy through transformational investment operating seven branches and area projects in different regions and a university college in Addis Ababa City administration. HOPE involved in holistic human development with concrete interventions by ways of Basic care, Value maturity, Education, Competency and Sufficiency. The organization is looking for a qualified person who is able to build on what has already been achieved.

Report to: Assistant Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities

The Job and Business Service Officer shall perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Manages programs of career planning and placement on one hand and business mediation the other.
  • Develops, plans, implements and evaluates the job and business mediation sector of the division using his knowledge of job and business mediation.
  • Monitors those starting and running their businesses
    • Liaises with the private, public and voluntary sectors to place graduates in jobs.
    • engages in networking with charitable organizations and government run
    • VTC and employer associations such as the chamber of commerce, employer
    • federations, contractor associations and companies following permission from the respective CEO.
    • liaises with private and public employment agencies and the media to bring out the profile of our trainees to the labor market.
    • liaises with MFIs to establish and improve partnerships if any based-on instruction from the respective executive.
    • Represents the Hope Enterprises in job fairs and the like

 Providing Training and Awareness Creation

  • Provides training to the trainees of our vocational programs on how to prepare for job exams and interviews and on how to behave properly in the work scene.
  • Develops manuals and handbooks on various aspects of job and business
  • Evaluates in writing the various vocational programs every semester from the standpoint of training marketable youngsters
  • Gets involved in teaching trainees about business enterprise.

Data Management

  • Maintains up to date statistics on our trainees and graduates
  • Develops appropriate impact indicators of the services in job and business mediation and uses the indicators to portray whether or not the sector is of impact.
  • Maintains an up-to-date list of the graduates and their fields of training along with those who got jobs and those who went on to further education.

Job Specification

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Bachler or master’s degree in business management or related field of study.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 for Bachler Degree/ 3 years’ experience for master’s degree years of relevant professional experience in JOB Creation, Liaison Officer, Employer with employee, or related areas for first degree, and
  • Experience in NGOs, development organizations,

Technical Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, social media management, and content development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and communication tools.
  • Knowledge of website management and social media analytics is desirable.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
