Job Summary
The Cameraman is responsible for capturing, producing, and organizing high-quality visual content that shows the activities, impact, and achievements of Hope Enterprises. The position supports the Marketing and Communication Unit and other departments by providing visual materials for storytelling, reporting, advocacy, fundraising, and promotion. The role requires creativity, technical skills in photography and video production, and a good understanding of development communication. The Cameraman ensures that all visual content reflects the values, branding standards, and communication objectives of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality photographs and video footage of organizational programs, events, field activities, and beneficiary stories.
- Support the Marketing and Communication Unit in producing visual content for reports, publications, fundraising, and advocacy materials.
- Document project activities in line with approved communication plans and organizational priorities.
- Edit, organize, and prepare raw visual materials for internal and external communication use.
- Maintain proper archiving and documentation systems for all visual content for easy retrieval and use.
- Ensure all visual materials reflect the branding, dignity, and ethical standards of Hope Enterprises.
- Coordinate with project teams and field staff to plan and execute field visits for documentation purposes.
- Provide visual support for social media campaigns, website updates, and organizational storytelling initiatives.
- Ensure proper care, safety, and maintenance of camera equipment and related accessories.
- Collaborate with IT and communication teams to support digital content production and dissemination.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the Marketing and Communication Officer or Executive Director.
Job Specification
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production, Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Photography, or related fields. Professional training in photography and videography is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in photography, videography, or media production.
- Diploma holders should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the same field.
- Experience in NGO or development communication settings is an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
Strong skills in photography and videography, basic to advanced video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools), knowledge of digital storytelling, understanding of branding and communication standards, and ability to manage digital media archives.
Personal Competencies:
Creativity, attention to detail, teamwork, ability to work under pressure and in field conditions, ethical storytelling, respect for beneficiaries, and strong organizational and time management skills.
Communication and Working Relationships
The Cameraman will work closely with the Marketing and Communication Officer in planning and implementing visual documentation activities. The role also involves collaboration with head office staff, project teams, and field staff to ensure effective documentation and strong organizational visibility across all programs and locations.
