Job Description

The ICLA Social Support position supports NRC’s established Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) programme in Aftit refugee camp and surrounding host communities. Working at field-support level under the supervision of ICLA Officers, the role assists with community outreach, beneficiary communication, administrative support, and awareness activities. The position contributes to the effective day-to-day implementation of ICLA services while ensuring compliance with NRC procedures and donor requirements.

Responsibilities

The purpose of the ICLA social support position is to assist with day-to-day implementation of the Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) Programme in Aftit refugee camp and surrounding host community.

Generic Responsibilities

  1. Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements in daily tasks 
  2. Share feedback with supervisors on challenges encountered during activities 
  3. Cooperate with relevant partners and local authorities as directed by supervisors 
  4. Support ICLA officers in implementing delegated ICLA programme activities according to plan of action 
  5. Assist in identifying and registering beneficiaries as instructed by ICLA staff 
  6. Demonstrate commitment to NRC’s mission, vision and values

Specific responsibilities:

  • Assist as a point of contact between the community and ICLA staff, by relaying information as guided by ICLA Officer.
  • Support the organization of mobile group information sessions (e.g., preparing materials, registering participants, arranging venues) under the guidance of ICLA officers.
  • Assist in maintaining communication records with beneficiaries, including updating contact lists and tracking sheets.
  • Support administrative aspects of case management, including filing, data entry, and organizing documents, as instructed.
  • Support logistical arrangements for community outreach and awareness activities, including venue setup, participant registration, and distribution of IEC materials under supervision of ICLA Officer
  • Maintain organized records of documents, meeting notes, and routine letters as instructed by the ICLA Officer.
  • Follow ICLA policies, donor agreements, work plans, budgets and procurement plans in daily support tasks.
  • Adhere to NRC’s Human Resource, Financial, Logistics & Security policies and procedures.
  • Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and above 
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize tasks, and meet deadlines.
