Main Job Purpose

The Country SHE Manager has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at the country level.

S/he works with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. Where geographical proximity, size and complexity permit, this role covers one factory site (Dukem) and a head office location

Responsibilities

  • Deploy the global and cluster SHE strategy, policies, and standards across the country
  • Lead and develop SHE teams to deliver strong safety, health, and environmental performance
  • Drive SHE risk assessments, controls, incident investigations, audits, and legal compliance
  • Lead Go‑to‑Market, logistics, contractor, and transport safety in line with Unilever standards
  • Influence senior leadership and embed a strong safety and environmental culture through line management
  • Improve environmental performance across waste, emissions, water, energy, and effluent KPIs
  • Oversee SHE governance, ESRS compliance, reporting, and CSHEC committee effectiveness
  • Support Behaviour‑Based Safety, Process Safety Management (PSM/SIMAS), crisis management, and project safety
  • Ensure capability building through training, coaching, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Experiences & Qualifications

  • 5-10 years’ experience in SHE is essential
  • Experience in Supply Chain operations
  • Manufacturing and/or Engineering experience
  • Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management
