Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) Ethiopia is seeking to recruit one Intern (Administration & Coordination Support) for its Country Office in Addis Ababa.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support administrative, coordination, and communication functions with the ACT Ethiopia Forum, a national platform that convenes 12 like-minded faith-based organizations under the umbrella of the ACT Alliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic humanitarian and development environment. Subject to performance and organizational needs, the position may evolve into an Administrative Assistant role.

Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension to Administrative Assistant, subject to performance and budget availability)

Reports to: HEKS/EPER Country Director / ACT Ethiopia Forum Convener

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate meetings, including scheduling, invitations, and follow-up,
  • Take accurate meeting minutes and ensure timely dissemination to relevant stakeholders,
  • Share information and updates as needed with partner organizations in a clear and timely manner,
  • Arrange logistics for meetings, workshops, and training sessions (venue, materials, travel, etc.),
  • Provide support to the Communication Working Group, including coordination and documentation,
  • Maintain organized records and filing systems (both digital and physical),
  • Assist in preparing basic reports, presentations, and correspondence,
  • Perform other administrative and coordination tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor,

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student) in Administration, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Open to fresh graduates or candidates with up to three years of relevant work experience,
  • Female candidates highly encouraged to apply,
  • Demonstrated interest in administration, coordination, or communications,
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills,
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic,
  • Knowledge of other languages is an asset,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Knowledge CANVA and Open Source Tools such as Designer, Publisher Adobe Photoshop is an asset, Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team,
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn,
