Job Description
Background
Florensis Ethiopia PLC is a multinational garden plant cuttings producing and exporting company that manages around 700 workers throughout the year and hundreds of additional seasonal workers in high production season. The company is situated in Oromia Region, Eastern Shoa Zone: Lume Woreda Koka Town.
Purpose of the Job:
- Support the department by planning, coordinating agronomy activities and following up their implementation.
- Keeping crops healthy.
Typical Responsibilities and Key end Results of the Position:
- Assigning work to the employees, monitoring for best result and taking corrective actions upon deviation from the standard.
- Check and analyze scouting reports.
- Manage and control steaming team scientifically.
- Support and follow up of each activity and give feedback to the employees.
- Report critical issues of the department to immediate supervisor.
- Check irrigation EC and pH reports in the greenhouse and analyze the result
- Play leadership role in getting work done through people.
- Choose chemicals and organize the schedule for spray.
- Check the fulfillment of personal protective equipment before starting work.
- Give training based on specific skill gap identified.
- Check overall climate in the greenhouse and report deviations.
- Develop standard operational procedures (SOP) for all activities of agronomy with the team.
- Evaluate workers’ performance and work cooperatively with different teams.
- Responsible for strict following of ‘Green trust’ business protocol model and code of practice.
- Performs other related duties as may be required.

About You
Knowledge, Skills, Behaviours, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s
Educational Background:
- BSC Degree in Horticulture, Plant science or related field with 3 years relevant work experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience should be in horticultural sector.
Skills Specific to the Post
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong leadership skills
- Process improvement, analyzing information, effective communication, emphasizing excellence, attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; both in English & Amharic
