Summary of the Positions

Duties

Under the direct supervision of DRSO, the Security Identification Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Embassy’s Identification and Badging Program.

The Security Identification Coordinator (SIC) prepares and issues all U.S. Embassy Addis identification for personnel assigned, employed, and on temporary duty to the U.S. Mission in Ethiopia and the U.S. Mission to the African Union. To do so, SIC must review and verify security certifications and clearances, and input personal information into the embassy’s badging system.

Conduct all administrative duties associated with badging including developing and maintaining a computer database of identification cards issued, returned, and lost; using and maintaining the embassy badging system; performing troubleshooting of the system if needed; and maintaining a sufficient inventory of badging supplies, ordering additional items when needed; liaising with One Badge support personnel in Washington, DC.

Facilitate access to the compound for visitors and temporary duty personnel by coordinating with various offices and the Marine Security Guard at Post One. Serve as primary contact for the receipt and acceptance of security clearance verifications from Diplomatic Security. Approve access requests through MyServices as needed. Fingerprint personnel applying for U.S. Government security clearances as needed.

Provide general administrative support to the RSO office by responding promptly to general email inquiries and answering the phone in a professional manner.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:  Two years of general office work experience is required.

Education Requirements

Education: Completion of high school is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:  English: Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing is required. (This may be tested)
Skills and Abilities: Ability to use the Department of State’s One Badge System, My Services, and Post’s Access Control Policy (This may be tested).
Qualifications:
Required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Basic knowledge of computer use is required, including proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and through written means.

Must be able to interact with staff members on a customer service level.

Must be able to multi-task effectively.

Must be able to quickly comprehend and implement directions and guidance given by supervisor.
