Background

Geneva Global Ethiopia is implementing Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE), a flagship initiative of Mastercard Foundation focused on strengthening teacher supply, instructional leadership, and student transitions in low performing secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Manage regional financial operations in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements
  • Prepare financial reports, and cash forecasts
  • Process payments, payroll, and ensure proper documentation
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure budget utilization aligns with approved plans
  • Support internal and external audits at regional level
  • Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and ensure proper cost allocation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including vouchers, ledgers, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure timely payments, advances, liquidations, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and donor regulations.

Administration and Operations

  • Oversee regional administrative functions, including office management, logistics, and asset control.
  • Maintain updated asset registers and conduct periodic physical inventory checks.
  • Manage procurement processes in line with organizational procedures
  • Support human resource administrative tasks at regional level
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and local regulations
  • Manage contracts, lease agreements, and service provider documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of administrative and financial records

Human Resources Support

  • Support payroll preparation and staff benefit administration at the regional level.
  • Maintain staff personnel files and ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and contract management processes.
  • Monitor staff attendance, leave records, and timesheets.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Work closely with program staff to ensure financial planning supports program activities.
  • Coordinate with finance and administration teams.
  • Provide capacity building and guidance to regional staff on financial and administrative procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience, preferably in NGOs or international organizations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management
  • Experience with donor-funded projects is an advantage
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills
