Job Description

Job Summary:
The Livelihood & Education Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on PAD-led livelihood, nutrition education, and community awareness activities at the field level. The position ensures the quality delivery of nutrition-sensitive livelihood interventions, strengthens community participation, promotes the inclusion of women and youth, and enhances the sustainability and impact of project outcomes.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate PAD-led activities under the She-F.E.R.A. project, including: Community involvement and awareness-raising on nutrition and environmental best practices; Community Nutrition Days and behavior change communication (BCC); and School-based nutrition and environmental awareness activities
- Prepare detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly work plans for livelihood and education components.
- Ensure integration of nutrition-sensitive livelihoods, linking moringa production, household consumption, and income generation.
Community Mobilization & Livelihood Support
- Lead community mobilization, beneficiary targeting, and participation processes with a strong focus on: Women-headed households, Families with malnourished children, and Youth and vulnerable groups
- Promote the adoption of moringa for household nutrition and dietary diversification.
- Supervise Community Facilitators and ensure quality outreach at the kebele level.
Education, Gender & Social Inclusion
- Coordinate school-based awareness sessions for students and teachers on nutrition, environment, and social inclusion.
- Promote gender equality and women’s leadership, ensuring meaningful participation of women (minimum 50%)
- Integrate youth engagement and basic life-skills education into community awareness interventions.
Coordination & Representation
- Maintain close collaboration with Woreda and Kebele offices, including: Agriculture, Health and Nutrition, Education and Women and Children Affairs
- Represent PAD in community meetings, coordination platforms, and stakeholder consultations.
- Ensure effective coordination with consortium partners and alignment with overall project objectives.
Monitoring, Reporting & Learning
- Conduct routine field monitoring and community follow-ups.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data related to PAD activities.
- Prepare timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly narrative reports.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Support accountability and community feedback mechanisms.
Additional Responsibilities
- Uphold PAD’s safeguarding, accountability, and humanitarian principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator or Field Manager.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Extension, Community Development, Rural Development, or related fields.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in livelihoods, rural development, community education, or humanitarian/development projects.
- Proven experience working with community structures, farmers, women, and youth groups, and local government offices.
- Prior NGO experience is highly desirable.
