Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in both accounting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Duties:

  • Help with data entry and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Support the accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
  • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on special projects as needed.

Clerical Finance Tasks:

  • Prepare and issue cheques for payments.
  • Receive and process receipts, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Process invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and filing systems.
  • Initiative approval processes
  • Assist settlement of monthly tax and pension obligations
  • Prepare procurement reports as per the requirement of tax authority
  • Scan and archive all financial documents (both in e- and Hard copy)
  • Preparing and issue withholding tax receipts

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Basic understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
