Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in both accounting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties:
- Help with data entry and reconciliation of accounts.
- Support the accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on special projects as needed.
Clerical Finance Tasks:
- Prepare and issue cheques for payments.
- Receive and process receipts, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Process invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update financial databases and filing systems.
- Initiative approval processes
- Assist settlement of monthly tax and pension obligations
- Prepare procurement reports as per the requirement of tax authority
- Scan and archive all financial documents (both in e- and Hard copy)
- Preparing and issue withholding tax receipts
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Basic understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
