Position: Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and internal-control systems.
- Advise senior leadership on financial risks, opportunities, and strategic decisions.
- Develop long-term financial forecasts and scenario-based planning.
- Oversee complex multi-project, multi-donor financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, cost modeling, cash-flow forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Review and consolidate annual budgets, revise budget assumptions, and ensure alignment with strategic plans.
- Guide project managers in financial decision-making, budget optimization, and cost-efficiency strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with national tax laws, labor laws, donor guidelines, and audit requirements.
- Oversee annual external audits, internal audits, and donor-specific audits.
- Develop corrective action plans and strengthen internal accountability systems.
- Lead improvements in financial systems, workflows, and reporting structures.
- Manage treasury functions, cash-flow stability, reserves, investment portfolios, and liquidity planning.
About You
Minimum Requirements
Education
- BA degree in accounting
- Four years’ Experience in consulting firms, donor-funded projects, NGOs, or private-sector financial leadership preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, tax legislation, and compliance regulations.
- High proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, Peachtree, Sage, ERP platforms).
- Proven ability to produce high-quality financial reports for donors and leadership.
- Strong understanding of procurement, asset management, and internal control systems.
