Mothers and Children Multi sectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is a national Non-Governmental Organization registered in accordance with the proclamation for Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No 1113/2019 with a certificate No 0022. MCMDO is currently implementing 15 emergency response and development projects in all regions and City Administrations in Ethiopia. .

Job summary

A Grant and Compliance Officer ensure that grant-funded programs operate within donor guidelines, legal regulations, and organizational policies. They play a critical role in financial oversight, risk management, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Grant Compliance Monitoring
• Ensure adherence to donor rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Monitor sub-grantee and contractor performance to ensure compliance with grant terms.
• Financial Oversight
• Track cost-sharing contributions and ensure timely disbursements.
• Policy and Procedure Enforcement
• Implement and enforce internal controls and compliance policies.
• Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance issues.
• Maintain accurate grant documentation and ensure timely submission of reports to donors.
• Prepare compliance reports and support external audits.
• Training and Capacity Building
• Train program staff and partners on donor compliance requirements and internal procedures.
• Provide ongoing support to ensure understanding and adherence to grant conditions.
• Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with program managers, finance teams, and external partners.
• Serve as a liaison between the organization and donors on compliance matters.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience: 5 (Five) years, typically 3–5 years in grant management or compliance roles, preferably with donor-funded projects.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations and Ethiopian financial laws.
• Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
