Job Description

East Africa Bottling S.C., a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa and the exclusive bottler of Coca-Cola products in Ethiopia, is pleased to invite passionate and qualified candidates to apply for the position of Microbiologist which is based in Bahir Dar Plant.  The successful candidate will report directly to the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager.

Key Purpose Statement 

To conduct microbiological analyses and research to identify, monitor, and control microorganisms affecting products, environments, or health outcomes. The role ensures product safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through accurate testing, data interpretation, and application of scientific methods to support quality, innovation, and public health.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure Quality and Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and relevant regulatory standards.

Monitor Environmental Conditions

  • Carry out environmental monitoring of clean rooms, production areas, and utilities (air, water, surfaces).

Support Production and Quality Control

  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure microbiological quality of products and processes.

Research and Development

  • Support the development and validation of new microbiological methods and technologies.

Laboratory Management

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and ensure adequate stock of reagents and consumables.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Communicate findings and recommendations to management and relevant departments in a timely manner.

Training and Continuous Improvement

  • Train and mentor laboratory technicians or interns in microbiological techniques and safety standards.

  • First Degree in Applied Biology/ Biology or related field of study with 0 year relevant experience.
