Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civic Education Teacher to deliver engaging and effective civics instruction to primary school students, fostering their academic growth, creativity, and confidence. The teacher will play a key role in shaping young minds and contributing to the school’s mission of excellence and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

Core Teaching Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote understanding of civic responsibilities, rights, and democratic values
  • Develop age-appropriate materials and activities that encourage active citizenship and social awareness
  • Teach using interactive methods like debates, case studies, and role-play
  • Assess student understanding through projects, presentations, quizzes, and class discussions
  • Provide constructive feedback to help students develop critical thinking and informed opinions on civic issues
  • Adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds of students

Classroom & Student Management

  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect
  • Maintain discipline and positive behavior through consistent routines and expectations
  • Track attendance and academic records accurately and confidentially
  • Identify students with special learning needs and collaborate on individualized support plans

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and concerns
  • Work closely with fellow teachers and school staff to support cross-curricular learning
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
  • Contribute to a positive school culture by modeling professionalism and enthusiasm

About You

Qualifications

  • MSc/MA/BA/BSc in Civics, Political Science, Social Studies, or a closely related field
  • PGDT (Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching) – mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in primary or secondary education
  • Experience in high-performing international or private schools is highly desirable
  • Strong command of English language
  • Proven ability to engage young learners through creative and interactive teaching methods
  • Familiarity with modern pedagogical approaches and digital learning tools
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
