Job Purpose:

This position will be crucial for food resource program in order to conduct regular live food and Cash distribution observations to monitor compliance of cash and food distribution process of the organization to meet donor agreed standards. Based on monitoring findings and observations, continuously work with field level staff to attain a higher and full level of compliance. He/she also will monitor process of regular cash and commodity end use check in its designated woredas after the completion of each cash and food distributions months to check and verify beneficiaries have received their entitlements as per the determined sizes and verify other relevant information on JEOP cash and food beneficiaries. He/she also follow-up regular warehouse inspection in its designated JEOP target woredas secondary warehouses to check and ensure higher level of Compliance to donor and Consortium level standards in warehouse management.

Key Responsibilities

Program/Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Coordinate and facilitate program/project activities, ensuring they align with the overall program/project objectives and donor requirements.
  • Monitor program/project progress, identify challenges, and develop solutions to ensure timely and effective implementation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program/project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant materials.
  • Follow-up the work of food monitors at the field level. Conducting the review of their monitoring plan for food and Cash monitoring visit, review their monitoring report, follow up the findings reported on the monitoring report is closed
  • Undertake regular follow-up of CRS food monitors monitoring activities are hosted by JEOP field team and follow-up their monitoring findings are closed on time
  • Conduct regular food monitoring activities of live food distribution observations, to monitor compliance of food distribution process to JEOP consortium and donor agreed standards. Based on monitoring findings and observations, continuously work with food monitors at field level staff to attain a higher and full level of compliance
  • Conduct regular commodity end use check, PDM, etc. in its designated woredas after the completion of each food distribution round to check and verify beneficiaries have received their entitlements as per the determined rations sizes and verify other relevant information on JEOP food beneficiaries
  • Undertake regular warehouse inspection in its designated JEOP target woredas secondary warehouses to check and ensure higher level of Compliance to donor and Consortium level standards in warehouse management
  • Review relevant food transaction documents to check and provide feedback on   practice of standard recording and documentation and reconciliation between different commodity transaction recording documents
  • Check and ensure if control procedures are adequate at each stage of JEOP food handling and distribution process to prevent corruption and misappropriation

Other Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of new program/project proposals and fundraising efforts.
  • Represent the organization at relevant meetings and events.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification

  • MA/MSC, BA/BSc Degree in social science fields such as Development studies, Agriculture, Economics, Accounting and other related fields

Required Professional Experience

  • 4-6 Years of experience

Required Language(s)

  • English & Knowledge of local language is advantageous
