Irrigation Supervisor – Kerchanshe Group

Job Purpose:- Supervise, organize and coordinates all farmland irrigation systems to maintain a proper, safe and smooth operation.

Generic Duties

• Follows up all irrigation technical duties
• Organizes and Monitors workflow and ensure that irrigation crew understand their duties or delegated tasks, and insure productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching,

Main Duties

• Oversees and maintain all farmland irrigation systems,
• participate in surveying to establish reference points, grades and elevations to guide construction
• Leads and monitors irrigation system installation and related civil work and maintenance for instance ;Installs main head and irrigation pipe, control units valves and sprinkler heads
• Responsible in the regular and frequent preventive maintenance schedule
• Responsible in troubleshooting and developing a quick mitigation mechanism for accidental stoppage
• Monitors effectiveness of irrigation systems,
• Program, monitor and control computerized irrigation controllers,
• Manages and administer fertigation/chemigation systems,
• Estimates labor requirements for jobs and review work schedules accordingly,
• Reviews work orders and schedule personnel and equipment in accordance with job requirements,
• Prepares, review, and submit timely reports to the relevant organ,
• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education:

• BSc or MSc in Irrigation Engineering/ water resource or Agricultural engineering or Related fields of studies.

Experience

• 6 years of relevant experience
• Experience with pipeline design, valve operation, and flow measurement

Skills

• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, surface, and pivot systems)
• Ability to install, operate, and maintain irrigation equipment and pumps
• Skilled in water management and efficient irrigation scheduling
