Background
Development for All (DFA), established in 2016 (Registration No. 3610), is an independent civil society organization committed to building an inclusive and sustainable Ethiopia where everyone lives in dignity. DFA works to empower marginalized communities, strengthen access to justice, and ensure that the voices of vulnerable groups are heard.
Purpose of the Assignment
DFA is seeking three qualified local language translators to translate legal awareness content from Amharic into the following local languages:
- Afaan Oromo (Oromia)
- Benishangul language
- Gumuz language
The translated materials will be used for legal awareness and access-to-justice activities targeting vulnerable communities.
Scope of Work
- The selected translators will be responsible for:
- Translating legal contents accurately from Amharic into the assigned local language
- Ensuring clarity, cultural relevance, and consistency of legal terminology
- Submitting translated materials within the agreed timeline
- Incorporating feedback and revisions, if required
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in translation from Amharic to the relevant local language.
- Strong written proficiency in both Amharic and the target local language.
- Familiarity with legal, human rights, or social development terminology is an asset.
- Ability to deliver quality work within deadlines
