Job Description
Background
Ethiopian Centre for Development (ECD):ECD is a local NGO that was founded in 2004 and was recognized by the Ethiopian government as a local non-profit organization (Register no. 1186). ECD aims to create better conditions and to improve access to opportunities for marginalized and impoverished children, young people and women, which will lead to an improvement in the livelihoods of everyone in the community. The goal of Ethiopian Centre for Development is to offer children living in poverty and young people who have been displaced, especially girls, better prospects for the future through education, training and self-employment.
Ethiopian Center for Development (ECD) has a plan to review the current human resource&financial manual, and organizational strategic plan to make necessary changes, so that it can be fully operational. ECD believes that human resources& financial manual, and strategic plan are key management tools to achieving better performance. The current manuals (HR &Finance) and strategic plan are generic in nature and in some cases does not address the specific issues. In order for ECD to strengthen its management system, the manuals and strategic plan needs to be reviewed, updated and tailored to suite the current environment at ECD.
Therefore, ECD is seeking the services of an experienced individual consultant or consulting firm well-motivated and with experience of working with strategic plan and manual development.
Purpose of the Consultancy
The purpose of the consultancy is to review and revise the current human resource& finance manual, organizational strategic plan. To revision is expected align with both internal and external changes, and is consistent with the ECD’s vision and missions.
Expected Outputs
The consultant is expected to deliver on the following:
- A report on the compliance/gaps of the manuals and strategic plan
- Presentation of Key recommendations to the ECD management
- First draft of the revised manuals (HR and Finance) with the relevant templates as Annexes and revised strategic plan.
- A draft version of the revised manual and strategic plan presented to ECD BOARD for approval.
- The final revised manuals and strategic submitted to ECD in Hard and soft copy on CD in both MS Word and PDF Format.
Timeframe and Work Plan
The duration of the assignment will be for over a period of oneand half month, from 16th of November up to 27th of December 2021.
- 15th December 2021, submission of the 1st draft manuals and strategic plan.
- 20th December 2021, the ECD management (Board) comments forwarded to the consultant.
- 24th December 2021, submission of the final draft of the revised manuals and strategic plan.
- 27th December 2021, presentation of the final revised manuals and strategic plan to ECD (Borad)
Job Requirements
Qualification
- Master’s degree in management, Labour law, Business Administration or any other relevant legal qualifications.
- At least 10 years of progressively experience in human resource, finance and strategic plan development
- Evidence of prior consultancy assignment with content directly relevant to this assignment and good analysis and writing skills
