Job Description
Role Overview
The Store Keeper will manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while ensuring efficient inventory control and maintaining the quality of stored items. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication with other departments.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Receive, verify, and record incoming goods against purchase orders or delivery notes.
- Organize and maintain stock in designated storage areas to optimize space and accessibility.
- Conduct regular stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the relevant team of shortages or excess inventory.
Storage & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for products, especially fresh or perishable items.
- Implement and follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and other inventory management methods.
Dispatch & Logistics
- Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring accurate packing and labeling.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to schedule and oversee deliveries.
- Verify outgoing goods against dispatch orders to ensure accuracy.
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, stock movement, and storage activities.
- Input data related to stock movements, including receipts, dispatches, and adjustments, into the inventory management system.
- Prepare and submit inventory and stock movement reports as required.
- Document any discrepancies, damages, or losses during receiving or dispatch processes.
Compliance & Collaboration
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with safety, health, and hygiene standards.
- Work closely with procurement, quality assurance, and other departments to address issues.
- Participate in inventory audits and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
About You
Key Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
