Summary Statement of Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Camp Manger in the camp and technical supervision of supply chain head in Assosa , the Store Keeper will be responsible for the day to day operation and management of  Tongo   Refugee Camp based warehouse activities and performs the tasks in controlling all assets under the possession of IRC Gure shombola Camp office in a safe and secured manner.

Specific duties and responsibilities

  • Reporting to Camp Manger, the store keeper is responsible for ensuring the overall warehouse activities and warehouse management. The store keeper must be proactive on delivering the necessary tasks as required.

Key Tasks:

  • Understand, implement and / or maintain standard IRC inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Manage and document the receipt, handling, storage, release and reporting of goods through the IRC warehouse(s).
  • Advise supervisor of potential inventory shortage
  • Ensure the maintenance of warehouse building(s), fittings and equipment.
  • Implement and ensure clear safety procedures
  • Implement and ensure clear loading / unloading procedures, correct stacking and turnover (FIFO) procedures.
  • Advise the Supply Chain Assistant of warehouse-specific issues or improvements
  • Maintain the Warehouse activity book recording all outgoing and incoming receipts and activities.
  • Controls the overall operation of the storehouses

Warehousing and Inventory

  • Monitor security of IRC’s storage and supplies.
  • Receive completed store’s request forms and prepare the goods for issuance.   
  • Ensure goods, equipment are signed for received on the request form (office expendables) or waybill (all other items).
  • Prepare a monthly report for the expendables store outlining all stock movements and remaining balances.
  • On a monthly basis, work with the Supply Chain Assistant to reconcile the Warehouse register in the Asset tracking sheet and equipment issuance forms.
  • Update the stock record cards and bin cards regularly.
  • Conduct routine inventory inspection and submit report to the Supply Chain Assistant, Sherkole Camp Manger, Warehouse Officer based in Assosa in a timely manner.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Maintain full and accurate inventory records.
  • Undertake (documented) monthly and ad-hoc physical inventory checks.

Provide on-time, standard monthly reports to refugee camp based Supply Chain Assistant and Camp Manger as well as Assosa based Warehouse Officer.

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate, TVET certificate, or College Diploma in business management\management accounting\ purchasing, supply management or any related fields of study.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work Experience for high school graduate and TEVET certificate. And two years of work experience for diploma holders.
  • Knowledge of supply chain operation, general ware house management systems.
  • Excellent in English language.
  • NGO experience will be an advantageous.
