Job Summary:

As a lead for the RFSA data analytics and visualization, you will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through coordinating and reporting on all Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA) activities and providing technical guidance and advice to staff and implementing partner(s) advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your coordination and relationship management skills will ensure that the RFSA for which you are responsible applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve. You will work with the team to identify the most useful analysis to undertake on data that is available in RFSA database and visualize the analyzed results in a format that useful for decision making and reporting. You will utilize advanced data analysis and visualization platforms that support analysis of regular and big data to provide the required analysis. You will build capacity of technical staff in utilizing the visualization platforms and in identifying useful analysis for their work.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·       Consistently assess reporting and analysis needs for 1) RFSA staff including senior management, middle management, and frontline staff, 2) external stakeholders including donors, Government of Ethiopia officials, other international and national development organizations for the purpose of developing analysis and visuals that respond to their needs.

·       Organize and lead the design and implementation data analysis and visualization strategy and tools for RFSA that will ensure consistent and timely access to high quality and useful analysis and visual for reporting and adaptive management.

·       Analyze implementation challenges and report any inconsistencies and/or gaps to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Collaborate with the RFSA technical teams in addressing identified gaps and inconsistencies.

·       Supervise and guide electronic data collect ion and perform ad-hoc inspections of data management devices and processes at project sites to ensure timely project activities implementation and adherence to established process standards and procedures. Ensure proper tracking of resource use for project activities through periodic budget reviews and follow-up with and assistance to implementing partner.

·       Support and coordinate capacity building and technical support activities associated with device management and electronic data collection to ensure assigned project activities are implemented per project guidelines and standards.

·       Ensure project documentation for data analysis and visualization is complete with all required documents and is filed per agency and donor requirements. Assist with preparation of trends analysis reports and documentation of case studies and promising practices.

·       Ensure learning consistently accompanies project activities throughout the project cycle. Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and guiding partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s Degree in economics, statistics, ICT or other quantitative field is required. Formal/certification in relational databases and/or advanced visualization platforms is an added advantage.

·       Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in project support, ideally in the field of data analysis, visualization and reporting and for an NGO.

·       Proficient in data visualization software such as PowerBI, Tableau, Zoho Analytics, and Visme.

·       Proficient in advanced statistical applications such as SPSS, R Studio or STATA. Formal training in at least one data visualization and one statistical software is an added advantage.

·       Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.

·       Staff supervision experience a plus.

·       Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.

·       Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
