Floresta Ethiopia is non- governmental organization based in San Diego CA, USA, whose mission is to reverse poverty and deforestation by transforming the lives of rural poor.
Now Floresta Ethiopia is implementing different developmental societal activities to improved economic empowerment and environmental restoration in Andabet woreda, amhara region, Ethiopia. On top of its expansion for a certain planning years, the program, Floresta Ethiopia would like to invite competent candidates who fulfill the requirement of the indicated different vacant positions indicates below.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Review all financial commitments and payments requests to ensure compliance with Floresta Ethiopia policies and procedures.
- Check and verify the reliability and accuracy of the payment requisition before disbursement.
- Ensure receipts, payments and journals are properly leveled and kept in safe ways.
- Close revenue and expenditure accounts at the end of the year. /June 30/
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts such as main cash, petty cash, payroll fund, staff debtors accounts and others,
- Assisting Project Manager with the overall program accounting and taking ownership of the systems required for this.
- Producing monthly financial reports for the program and assisting Project Managers with the production of monthly reports; including reporting on project variances of actuals vs. budgets, and updating forecasts.
- Making suggestions on improvements to PWP monthly financial systems.
- Preparation of quarterly forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Help to educate and encourage all staff to take more responsibility over the financial aspects of the program that they are doing and the overhead costs that they are incurring.
- Offering professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance.

- Support the work of PWP Worldwide as required.
- Arrange all financial documents for internal and external audit work.
- Prepare timely withholding tax claim timely if required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager

Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
- Skilled in Quick Book accounting /certified in Quick Book /
- Excellent computer skills / all computer packages/
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Good knowledge and understanding of foreign exchange;
- High computer literacy essential, especially for Excel;
- Confidence and enthusiasm
- Good attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable with an ability to adapt appropriately within various situations.
- Co-operative and supportive team player
- Strong personal commitment to Floresta Ethiopia vision, mission and goals and to put in to practice.
- Self-motivation and pro-active attitude

- Excellent work ethic
Qualification
- BA/MBA in Accounting, Accounting and budgeting, Accounting and Finance, Financial Management, Business Management, Business Administration and Economics. 6/5 years relevant experience respectively.
Experience/Minimum Requirement:
- Experience with program accounting for NGO in Ethiopia
- Experience using QuickBooks
- Previous experience with foreign exchange
- To have worked in a similar role at different area
