Project Officer – Mekdim Ethiopia National Association (MENA)

Mekdim Ethiopia National Association (MENA) is a national association of persons living with HIV and orphans due to HIV/AIDS .

MENA would like to hire qualified and experienced staff for prospective project that focuses on   Social Accountability in Oromia regional state. The project is planned to be implemented in; Ilubabora, Buno Bedele and Jima Zones of Oromia National and Regional state to cover 16-24 Woredas.

The project requires one full time Project Officer who will be located at MENA Jimma branch project coordination office. The job holder under this position will mainly be responsible for overall planning, coordination, implementation and quality assurance of the SA project in the intervention Woredas.l.

Job Description

• Plans, coordinates and guides the implementation of the project in all the Woredas,
• Provides technical and organizational support to the SA implementation teams of the lead and sub-partner organizations,
• Follows up and implements directives and guidelines of the project management team as per the contract with the MA,
• Follows up timely disbursement of project funds,
• Organizes and implements training for Woreda social accountability experts and woreda officials and citizens groups,
• Organizes and conducts project monitoring visits,
• Consolidates Woreda reports and submits progress report to the Project coordinator as per agreed upon time frame and format,
• Ensure monitoring, evaluating and documenting progress of program implementation against indicators and ensure that activities are on track;
• Providing overall guidance and direction to WSAE focusing the program team on achieving agreed targets
• Oversee the preparation and submission of technical and financial reports to MENA coordination office as per the grant agreement;
• Periodically collect and prepare success stories and best practices; disseminate reports to stakeholders
• Coordinate and conduct baseline and mid-term evaluations and dissemination for action
• Documents and disseminates studies, learning experiences and best practices in implementing SA tools,
• Liaises with zonal and woreda sector bureaus and departments on SA project matters;

Required Qualification: 

• BA/BSC Degree in Agriculture, Sociology, Economics, Education, Public Health, Social Work, Anthropology, and related fields with five years relevant hands-on experience in project management, program planning, monitoring and evaluation using participatory approaches and tools.
