Job Description

Position: Project Manager

Number of positions: 1

Reporting to: Head of program 

·       Manage the overall program/project implementation progresses to ensure effective implementation of planned activities and budget utilization;

·       In close coordination with the M and E officer, develop the project PMP;

·       Ensure project progresses and success stories and properly documented and communicated;

·       Prepare quarterly budget request of the project and monitor the effective utilization of the project budget;

·       Ensure and follow up active participation of communities in program implementation, management and monitoring;

·       Identify and resolve constraints to project implementation in consultation with the project team;

·       Prepare and share project progress reports to the government counterpart and to the donor;

·       Participate in various meetings communicating the project performance to stakeholders;

·       Develop project concept note & participate in project proposal development

·       Coordinate and facilitate community and/or vulnerable groups’ needs and capabilities assessment and design relevant programs/projects

·       Develop objectives for program staff reporting to her/him and follow-up achievement of the objectives.

·       Conduct staff performance assessment and identify capacity development needs, and plan and implement appropriate capacity development activities.

·       Classify the major weaknesses and strengths of the SHG and provide solving opportunities of the problem collaborating with the Program department

·       Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor

About You

Education:

·       Have at least University Degree in Project Managment, Public Health and related disciplines. Additional training and certification in project management and related fields would be an advantage.

Experience:

·       At least 10 years’ experience in national or international NGOs is required out of which 5 years’ in Project Management in the areas of health programs.

·       Extensive previous work experience in project design, planning, implementation, and coordination of Emergency Health projects in humanitarian setting

·       Has excellent MS Office application skills including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Access, MS-Power point, etc.

·       Has excellent experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS- Word, MS- Excel, MS-Access, MS-Power points etc) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web based management systems.

·       Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is desirable
