This project focuses on the Tigray Region to support the implementation of this World Bank funded project that aims to rehabilitate health, education, and infrastructure facilities in the region. This will include:
- Community-based rapid response for repairs to basic services (schools, health centers, WASH).
- Community-based recovery activities (infrastructure improvements to schools, health centers, WASH.
- Strengthening institutions for resilience to maintain the above works.
UNOPS will establish a project management office in Mekelle, Tigray Province to execute project activities.
Specific Role
In order to efficiently and effectively support the implementation of the World Bank Project, the UNOPS Ethiopia Office is in need of an experienced Monitoring & Evaluation Senior Officer. This Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator based in Mekelle with reporting lines to the M&E coordinator based in Addis Ababa.

Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education
- A Masters Degree in Public Health, Economics, Development Studies, Business Management/Administration, Project Management and/or other relevant field of studies is required.
- A Bachelors Degree in combination of two additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the Masters Degree requirement.
Experience:
- At least two (2) years relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation for Masters degree holders. OR (four) 4 years relevant experience in in Monitoring and Evaluation for Bachelor degree holders.
- Proven experience in dealing with government, INGOs and UN agencies stakeholders is an added advantage.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English (Reading, Speaking & Writing) is required.
