Job Description

Talent Youth Association (TaYA) in partnership with Amref Health Africa implements Kefeta in Addis Abeba and Debrebirhan city. Kefeta envisions Ethiopian youths who are game changers: empowered to advance their own economic, civic, and social development; resilient in the face of shocks; actively promoting development within their communities and contributing to the country’s peace and prosperity.

Kefeta will strengthen the youth ecosystem in Ethiopia with integrated, multi-sectoral, youth-centered programming aligned with the Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy and provide guidance and analysis to executive and operational management to improve results.
  • Maintain system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets.
  • Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow.
  • Maintain control of the following areas: general ledger, accounts payable, expense reports, billing, and payroll.
  • Assist in the program team of grants reporting, compliance, and reconciliation.
  • Process payments, cash receipts/collections, and cash management
  • Checks all payment documents (commodities and cash), payment checks, etc for budget and other related issues prior to the project manager’s approval.
  • Recording financial and related transactions, produces financial reports
  • Make sure internal control is in place, fixed asset, and inventory management
  • Prepares payroll and pay all relevant payments (income tax, pension)

Contract duration:       1 Year with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • B.A Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably in an NGO Setting.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills,
  • Cross-cultural Sensitivity,
  • Basic computer proficiency is Mandatory
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proficiency in Amharic and English
